    Common Questions

    Frequently Asked Questions

The things most people ask before enrolling. Still have a question? Speak to our admissions team.

Skills SA subsidies are available on our Certificate IV in Disability Support and both Diploma qualifications, for eligible South Australian residents. Our admissions team will walk you through the eligibility check during your enquiry — it takes about 10 minutes. You can also start by visiting skills.sa.gov.au.
Course length depends on the qualification and the pathway you choose. Our Certificate III takes around 24 weeks, Certificate IV around 36 weeks, and our Diplomas around 52 weeks. Each course page shows the exact duration broken down by phase. Classroom-Based delivery follows a slightly faster schedule than the Blended Three-Phase path.
Yes. Supervised work placement is built into every qualification we deliver and is included in the course fee. You'll need to obtain a National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check before starting placement — these are listed under "Additional Costs" on each course page.
Many of our students return to study after a long break — you won't be alone. Our trainers are experienced in supporting mature-age learners, classes are capped at 25 students for personal attention, and our Student Support and Wellbeing team helps with everything from study skills to language and literacy support.
Blended is our standard pathway — face-to-face campus sessions for skills practice combined with online theory. Online is for students who need maximum flexibility and self-direct their study. Classroom-Based is fully on-campus for students who learn best with structured in-person instruction. Every pathway covers the same units, fees and qualification — only the delivery experience differs.
Yes. Every qualification offers a payment plan with the fee split across the course duration — exact instalment amounts are on each course page. Skills SA-eligible students pay a much lower student contribution, also payable in instalments. Talk to our admissions team during your enquiry and we'll find a plan that works for your situation.
It depends on the qualification. Cert III in Individual Support leads to roles like Aged Care Worker or Personal Care Assistant. Cert IV in Disability Support opens up Disability Support Worker and NDIS Support Coordinator roles. The Diploma of Community Services prepares you for Case Worker and Community Support Worker roles, and the Diploma of Mental Health leads to Mental Health Support Worker and Peer Support Worker positions. Each course page lists the specific career outcomes — salaries vary by role, employer and location.
No. The baseline is Year 10 in an Australian secondary school (or equivalent). If you didn't complete Year 10, demonstrated relevant life or work experience is accepted in its place. We'll complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLND) assessment at ACSF Level 3 with you during the application process to make sure you're set up to succeed.
AISC runs rolling intakes — new cohorts start every month. The exact next available start date depends on the qualification and the pathway you choose (Blended, Online or Classroom-Based). Submit an enquiry and our admissions team will confirm the soonest start date that works for you, usually within a few weeks.
Yes — Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) lets you credit existing skills and work or life experience toward the qualification. RPL can reduce both the time and the cost to complete. Talk to our admissions team with examples of your experience — paid work, volunteer roles, family caring, prior training — and they'll assess what's eligible for credit.
